Document Summary

It allows us to look @ diversity. It was focused on the south such that it seemed like these were the only countries that had problems. Are there simply too many ppl: population is one of the main concerns regarding enviro problems. Can the world support us all: resource pressure, scarcity. Population x consumption = enviro impact: this eqn fails to address historial reasons behind population growth and the differentiation of consumption. There are some that will consume more than others. Alternative environmental impact eqn: i=pat, i= environmental impact, p= population size, a= affluence. Your behaviour based on the state of your wealth. Rich: will take down a tree in seconds. Poor: will take a day per tree: t= technology. When ppl have enough to eat and they can support themselves, the law of population applies and it leads to unchecked population growth: bc when they have more money, they have the ability to grow more.
