Ecology is the scientific study of interactions among organisms and their environment. Health is the ability of an organism to maintain balance with environment; relative freedom from pain and disability. Environment is the chemical, biological, physical built, natural and socioeconomic environment combined to create conditions that strongly influence the health of individuals and populations. Complex web of causation is more complex than doctrine of specific etiology. Emphasis is on interaction and inter-relatedness; nested hierarchy person, community, ecosystem, society, planetary levels. The natural environment is one where it came to be with no human interference. The built environment is one which was built by human and their interferences. Planetary health is the health of human civilization and the natural system on which the human civilization depends on. This term was first coined by paul crutzen; it described the human influence on earth on its most recent geologic time period.
