HLTA03H3 Lecture Notes - Lecture 4: Operant Conditioning Chamber, Systematic Review, Prenatal Development
Document Summary
Prenatal development and epigenetic: a systematic review answers a set of questions that meets the criteria of the study. There are 4 main perspectives that were discussed in this lecture: eriksons 8 stages of psychosocial development (1956): these are stages that a healthy individual needs to pass through from birth to adulthood to death. For example, baby"s are primarily interested in sensorimotor skills. There are 2 types of stimuli and 2 types of responses. Unconditioned stimulus: a natural stimuli that brings about a natural response. Unconditioned response: the natural reaction to a stimuli. Conditioned stimulus: a stimuli that is purposely brought to an individual. Conditioned response: the learned behaviour the individual portrays due to the new conditioned stimulus: another example of learning theory is watson"s famous study of albert and the rat. The skinner box (1938), which would be operant conditioning is yet another example. It uses positive and negative reinforcement that are fundamentals to the learning conditions.
