Research- systematic*, r igorous*, valid, careful, executed in a certain manner, develops explanations for what you"re t rying to describe (theories) - *research method. Health research- research specific to health questions; very broad; anything that has to do with health. These three types of research can overlap each other a great deal. Very diverse field therefore leading to diversity in methodology in health research. Exploratory- just looking, very little information on what one is researching. Descriptive- describes a situation and gives an indication of levels and scales of the issues that are being examined. Analytical- methodology is involved; analyzing associations, making a hypothesis and testing it- how and why. There are many different disciplines involved in health researche. *refer to slides from lecture 2 for full definitions. health care experience- how people feel about their healthcare (i. e hospital wait times) coping/management strategies in the face of illness.
