The baby boom: wwii caused the baby boom as well as the industrialization, post war optimism, people coming back home to families increase in birth rate, fordist (commercialization) Baby bust: women"s liberation movements, social norms were changing in the 60s and 70s (women"s jobs, etc. ) Baby boomers: making lots of changes in society, changes included retirement patterns, economic changes, etc. Root causes are important because they will help us fix the problem from the root: dependency ratios, know stats for canada!!! Ageism includes elderspeak: elderspeak is a way younger people talk or communicate with older people. The way they speak may be louder or quitter, extra friendly and treating them like a child, speaking more slowly, etc. This can be offensive and should not be done.
