Social anthropology: studies all aspects of society from a cross cultural perspective. Psych on the other hand privileges individual differences. Tuesday, october 24, 2017: culture is always changing and in ux. Ethnicity: loosely refers to the origin of birth: culture in uences and shapes our views on bodies, healthcare and the causes of illnesses. Western views: this is rooted in positivist science, emphasizes use prescription and doesn"t seem to relate to the holistic view as that is something that cannot be observed. It is based on values such as the patients right to autonomy. Indigenous views: folk health sector (anything that doesn"t t in the biomes model). The understanding of health are seen as inseparable from religion and spirituality. Spiritual healing: aligned with holistic model of health, emphasis on healing rather than treating, based on socially driven model of well being", spirituality is found through religious practices.
