The first nations lost 98% of original lands and the metis nations people lost 83% of the red river lots that belonged to them. Institutionalized racism: involved in the structure of society, racism codi ed in institution of practice, law and/or government inaction in the face of need. This is a type of racism that needs to be spoken out about, as it is normalized. Personally mediated racism: de ned as prejudice and discrimination, and can manifest itself as a lack of respect, suspicion, devaluation or dehumanization.
