Cyborg: combination of machine/human: could also be machine/any kind of organic entity. Interesting because its about the crossing of boundaries: for haraway, crossing of boundaries makes an important figure. The figure of the cyborg is what"s going on and were connected with machines. Also offers possibility of hopeful figure and about mixness and not being essential. Mcluhan thinks about technology as extensions of human sense, prosthesis is kind of similar.
