Character in organizational research: past directions and future prospects. It is of no doubt that an individual"s character portrays a crucial role in providing workers with maximum job satisfaction and their overall outlook on life. Roosevelt, the 26th president of the united states, strong individual character and character formation is on the decline (hunter, 2000). Thomas a. wright and ching-chu huang, the authors of this article, have analyzed and conceptualized the definition of one"s character, as well as introduced guidelines for organizationally based research on human character. The purpose of this article was to discover a universal definition for the term character and provide an outlook in the direction that character is taking in an organization. The meaning and importance of character in a work environment was a subject to alteration overtime, and there is no doubt that it will continue to change in the future.
