Cities are highly vulnerable to the effects of climate change. Major urban cities are on coastlines therefore is sea level increases, the cities will be submerged underwater. The world is urbanizing and most of economic activity in the world is city based. Even agriculture is municipally oriented, as farms produce food to feed cities. Climate change is simultaneously a municipal and provincial issue. There are thousands of countries acting on climate change. Only since the last ten years have cities started acting on climate change opening a place for climate politics. E. g nyc has a very aggressive climate plant compared to national us policy. Copenhagen wishes to be carbon neutral by 2025.
