Document Summary

It may be due to the reason that so many people that know you a different way are gathered together and see you there, and you do not know how to behave in the right manner. Generalization is when the same reaction is created to similar stimuli. For instance when palov trained his dogs with one type of bell, but they drool even when another type of bell is used. Discrimination: when an organism reacts differently to similar stimuli. E. g. a child has been around kittens, and they have learned if they scratch it behind the ears, it purrs. One day, the child encounters a skunk, thinking it is similar to a cat, the child tries to scratch it behind the ears (generalization) and gets sprayed, the child will learn to discriminate. This is because we go through life the same way.
