Document Summary

3 things have to happen to remember something: you have to encode information well, has to be stored somewhere, you have to be able to retrieve it well. Deeper processing: you can memorize something but that is surface, concept maps: When you study, all the important terms or theories, write it down. At the end of the chapter, pick them 2 at a time and how are they related: not just about thinking about something deeply, but attaching it to a structure of some sort. Example, putting titles where recipes are put, in a structured way (desserts, main courses, vegetarian, etc. ) She doesn"t remember everything that happens to her. Remembers everything that is personally relevant to her: obsessive compulsive rememberer, everything that happened to her day to day. When you take information and think about it over and over again, you will remember them very well. Process that happens after the experience: consolidation.
