The birth and early years
Why was Germany such a strong influence?
- Look at the history of it, before WW1 and WW2
- Germany was a superpower, did well in both wars
- Economically well off
- Leds to scientific adverntuorus
- Gov had a lot of money
- Thought sciene and knowledge gives them a strong advantage
- Germany was builing their sciences, academia
- There were funds to try something new given by the government
- Very important to the birth of psychology
Hermann Von Helmholts (1821-1894)
- Simply stuff that had a strong impact
- “ what I would like to know how fast does a signal travel in a tissue” People
would have neglected and said its too hard to measure. Helmolts said lets
find the average human and figure out how the nerve tissue is from one hand
to the spine to the brain back to the spine then to ther other hand

Ernst Weber (17-1878)

Willhelm Wundt late 1800- 1898 regard as the birth of psycology

Psychology”
