Document Summary
Emotion needs to have valence and arousal thats why there is not much in the middle. Emotions are evolved; help us survive cuz humans are social creatures: four major theories of emotion (why emotion, common sense view stimlus>emotion>arousal, james-lange stimulus>arousal>emotion. Physical feedback is not necessary for emotion: cannon bard. Many neural structures involved in most brain processes: The two major neural structures related to emotion. Amygdala; the amygdala is a relatively primitive part of the limbic system that quickly processes biologically relevant information. The prefrontal cortex; the prefrontal cortex is a relatively advanced part of the brain that slowly processes information rationally. Internal feeling states (how we feel: emotion related cognitions, emotion related physiological processes, emotion related behaviour. Emotion regulation by baboes: self- soothing, gaze-aversion.
