There is no single thing called schizophrenia they look different, (cid:1) different stories, etc. (cid:1) A group of psychological disorders involving distortions of thought, perception and emotion; bizarre behaviour; and social withdrawal (cid:1) (cid:1) (cid:1) (cid:1) presenting the disorder. Schizophrenia means broken mind. this is a negative way of. Many homeless people are schizophrenic (cid:1) (cid:1) (cid:1) Males have it when they are younger (20s) females in their 40s. Positive (addition) symptoms : experiences that schizophrenics have (cid:1) (cid:1) that we do not have. Hallucinations (typically auditory: delusions of persecution (put downs), control (make them do things diffusion of responsibility), and of grandeur (feel special and that they are imp. ) Ex. delusions of grandeur start believing you are jesus. To a schizophrenic, you note all the suspicious people and connect. With the right medication, the positive symptoms can go away. But (cid:1) them in a complex drama, and lose memory of what they created and what is real.
