Concepts of self can change in relation to other people and environments. Self-concept the totality of our beliefs and feelings about ourselves: the physical self ( i am tall. ) Etc: the active self ( i am good at badminton. ) What do you know you are good at: the social self ( i am nice to others. ) How you are when interacting with others: the psychological self ( i believe in world peace. ) Self concept ties in with your self identity. Self identity: our perception about what kind of person we are. Partially informed by what others think of us, but also from symbols and cues from the external world: we gain information about the self largely through language, symbols, and interaction with others.
