Social groups : members need to interact with one another and be interdependent. Social norms: acceptable behaviors, beliefs values of society. It may take over the person"s personality so it can have an influence on the person. Group cohesiveness: how groups appear to be close knit and similar. When we perceive a group is cohesive it promotes liking and ingroup favoritism. Destructive cult: employs unethical techniques for manipulation and control. Its mostly about the leader even though they try and make it about other things. A main goal is to recruit and fundraise. They wanna make their cult bigger to raise more money. Deindividuation: being in a group where you individuality is lost. State person loses sense of him or herself which alters their behavior. This occurs in crowds such as mobs, or when are anonymous like your wearing gear so no one knows who you are (kkk) or group chanting, stomping.
