Evolution is the organizing framework for all the sciences. So any theory of personality should be consistent with evolution. 3 basic ideas of where humans come from. Scars are acquired designed features, so theres no genetic basis. Some of us are taller and some of us are shorter. Some species have large frontal lobes, others have things. Noone has changed the way we think of ourselves as biological agents as charles darwin. Designed features can influence our capacities to survive and reproduce. If it can be passed on and contributes to our reproductive success will be passed on at greater rates than alternative design features. Sexual selection evolution of adaptive characteristics because of the reproductive benefits bestowed on those having them they may impact survival negatively but they do enable the species to reproduce.
