Anxiety having a constellation of symptoms that we all relate too in someway but keep in mind it that anxiety has physiological and cognitive symptoms. Anxiety disorders: phobia, panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, separation anxiety. Anxiety doesn"t really exist but its thinking about what could happen. Most common psychological symptoms b/c there is a great deal of overlap with the symptom that characterize this symptoms be mindful of disability, distress, unexpectedness. Women are more prone but men aren"t likely to seek help they abuse substances more often. Beck anxiety inventory: similar symptoms across disorders. Phobias: phobia- disrupting, fear-mediated avoidance, speci c phobia. Out of proportion to the danger actually posed. Recognized by the sufferer as groundless if there is a lion its okay for us to run and be scared but its not groundless. Unwarranted fears caused by the presence or anticipation of a speci c object. Dsm-5 into 4 sources: blood injection, being in elevators or a plane, animals.
