Cog(cid:374)iti(cid:448)e science is the scientific study of those mental processes. Usually what we start out with is a carefully designed experiment. The way in which you construct this experiment matters a lot. we create an experiment that tries to engage the elements of cognition we are interested in studying. These models must be created in ways that are thoughtful and rigorous: you have to be very clear about what the model is trying to get at which cognitive process.
