Sensation is how we take physical energy in the world and turn it into a neural signal. The actual transduction/translation of physical energy into neural signals. Pe(cid:396)(cid:272)eptio(cid:374) taki(cid:374)g of these neural signals and decoding them into what our environmental experience was by the brain. Perceptual process is the interpretation process of sensory information. We are trying to separate the physical stimuli from the perceptual domain. If (cid:455)ou (cid:272)a(cid:374)(cid:374)ot separate one object fo another, you cannot identify them easily, and in perception there is lots of schools of thoughts that explains how this occurs. The most famous is a gestalt school of thought. It suggests that there is a tendency to perceive objects as a whole.
