Memory and understanding memory ex: patient hm suffering from seizures , surgery resulted in amnesia where he can no longer form new memoriesafter surgery remembered mostly everything from prior to the surgery but can"t form new memories. -> he lost his fav uncle but after few minutes he would forget and still think he lived until someone had to remind him. Wanted to know was can you study thats something thats within? can we study our thoughts. Proposed to do it through introspection (evaluate inner self ex thinking about myself and my thoughts/behaviors and why im doing that) Idea that this skill to be able to study through introspection had to be taught to do it properly you had to be trained. The mind is something we don"t have access to , so we determine cause of behavior is based on what we observation and studies.
