PSYB57H3 Lecture Notes - Lecture 7: Visual Search, Image Scanner, Mental Rotation
Document Summary
There is a lot variability between people in what images they see in their minds. There are people who can imagine things very clearly and vividly and then there are people who cannot imagine images in their mind at all. If you are lower on the visual imagery spectrum it does not mean that you are impaired, different people just imagine things differently. When trying to learn math or letters imaging it in your mind could help. You can imagine what something would look like in the future, which could have value for stimulating the future. Imaging how something would look likr in the future can affect the decisions that we actually make in real life. Mental imagery: how it is we see images in our mind. When you imagine something in your mind you remember it better. When you imagine words in your mind you can remember them better for a test.
