Document Summary

For visions, the sensation process happens in eyes: perception is understanding what something is, like what color someone"s eyes are. Allows us to be able to tell the difference between different people, objects, etc: how does information come in, the organ that takes in visual info is the eye. Eye captures info and sends it to the part of the eye that turns in into a neural signal layer of cells in the back of the eye is called the retina. Retina has many different receptors: cone receptors are sensitive to color. Cones are concentrated in part of eye that corresponds to what you directly look at. They are important for differentiation colors and seeing things in high definition and good sharpness: 7 million cones/eye, rod receptors are used for dim lighting conditions and for detecting movement. Most of the rods are on the periphery of vision, makes sense sine you can only process so much at a time.
