Review notes: human are very territorial however we are more complex. We have customs and immigrations, we have passports and flags. We have the same behaviors but we have just more complex. The cerebral cortex and the different lobes: the cerebral cortex is not smooth. Because the cerebral cortex needs more space, it starts to fold within itself therefore forming mountains and valleys. These mountains and valleys are important because it tells us where we are. I t gives us a clear location of where we are: the mountains are referred to as the gyrus or gyri. If you look at the top of the brain the two sides of the brain is not connected in any obvious way. The brain is divided to the right half and the left half which are referred to as hemispheres. The corpus callosum connects the brain at the same places on both sides of the hemispheres.
