Context & associations: implicit stereotypes change depending on context. Movie and iat people exposed to positive images had reduced iat effects. Priming in context make a difference on the iat at: implicit stereotypes change after training least. Kawakami & phillis 2007 -- > joystick study. Push the joystick when you see a white face (approach), pull the joystick when you see a black face (avoid) vs. opposite vs. sideways control. Results: diminished pro white bias when they did push joystick for black face (approach) Proof of concept that you can change attitudes, they are permanent, can change by context, by popular culture etc. Counter-stereotypic role models: women"s colleges present natural experiment into how women"s beliefs are shaped by exposure to women in counter-stereotypic leadership positions. Compare women in co-ed vs. all women in colleges.
