Lect 7 human aggression & violence: hostile aggression. Expressive aggression (non-physical: mocking, cursing, shouting. Response to anger-inducing conditions: less thought out; emotional response. Goal is to make victim suffer: not always. Behavior perpetrated or attempted with the intention of harming one or more individuals physically/psychologically (stalk) or to destroy an object: violence. Destructive physical aggression intentionally directed at harming other persons or things: social definition. Three types of models: family members, one"s subculture, family is embedded into subculture, symbolic models in mass media, crime shows. Cognitive models of aggression: cognitive scripts model. For those ppl that(cid:495)re susceptible, there is a difficulty in trying to get them to shift away from it.
