Behavioural characteristics of psychopathy: super cial charm, average to above-average intelligence (most of them) Psychological testing di erences some psychopaths display relatively higher scores on intelligence tests than typical o ender, but not all: successful psychopaths committed crimes but avoided arrest and conviction for o ences, unsuccessful psychopaths convicted and imprisoned. Indivs. diagnosed w/ schizophrenia and who demonstrated many of the features of psychopathy > more severe histories of o ending and violence than those person diagnosed w/ schizophrenia alone. Verona, patrick and joiner (2001) psychopaths who were esp. aggressive and impulsive show some indictors of suicidality (risk of suicide)
