Humans should not consume meat, as they have severe negative impacts to the environment. People have been conditioned to eating meat on a regular basis as the social norm and do not realize the repercussions they are causing. Humans deplete an excessive amount of valuable resources and pollute the environment significantly to satisfy their desire for meat. These serious, long-term effects on the planet are cause by the production and consumption of meat, and can be greatly reduced if humans were to end meat eating. Essential resources such as water, land and energy are put towards the production and up keeping of the meat industry. In just the us, livestock outweigh the american population by 5 times.
