An example of this would be higher heart rate: the cognitive component of anxiety consists of the subjective perception of the anxious arousal and associated cognitive processes. An example of this would be feelings of worry: in terms of worrying, emphasis is placed on the future. Anxiety in students: most common forms of anxiety in students include test anxiety and test irrelevant thinking, students with test anxiety are highly critical of themselves, thus have negative thoughts about themselves during the testing period. When does anxiety become a problem: chronic, relatively intense, role impairment, significant distress to the self or others.
