Digit span o Test of working memory o Psychologist uses it to determine whether or not someone has good working memory Statistic infrequency o Normal curve Most normal people perform at the average (in the middle) Problem: some things dont fall into this type of curve. Athleticism The Case of The Mens Room Violation of norms o Makes those that are observing uncomfortable Personal Distress o Behaviours of Psychopath. Psychopaths are statistically infrequent and violate several norms. BUT psychopaths are not distressed by it. Disability or dysfunction (or impairment) o You can at some points in the year have several dysfunctions. BUT if it doesnt affect you going to work, having relationships, going to schoolYOU ARE IMPAIRED BUT NOT DISABLED. Unexpectedness o Kleptomaniacwealthy people are not expected to steal things.
