Peripheral nervous system pns: consists of everything else; nerves that run from spinal cord to face, fingers, tells us if we re hot or cold. You don t know where the spinal cord ends or begins, it s just continuous with the brain. Composed of two major things: cerebellum (involved with sensory motor integration: taking info from body and linking to motor info to control appropriately the body, damage to cerebellum have problems standing up, people stagger. In the core of the hind brain, responsible for basic life processes: keeping organisms alive at the most basic level; heartbeat and respiration, what keeps us breathing in and out, most primitive aspects to keep an organism alive. Sensory info and integrates it and sends out a message to the brain to move the hand and then to the muscles to pull the hand away.
