Clinical Neuropsychology Clinical psychology is a subspecialty of Clinical Psychology – more trained to deal with disorders Shaped by: World Wars and technological advances • Army recruiting procedures and shell shock o Psychologists were brought in to make tests to decide where people to be placed in the armies o Shell shock = PTSD • Technological advances: invention of cars o Motor vehicle accidents have brought along all sorts of brain injuries Scientist-Practitioner (Boulder model) • This is what decided the role of a neuropsychologist.
