It is to make decisions- a decision making device. The main building blocks of cns are neurons and glial cells. Cell body: basically constitutes the grey matter of the brain. The basic machinery of the cell itself is contained here. Coming out of the cell body are the dendrites. Purkinje cells are cells coming out of the cerebellum. The dendrites are what receive signals from other neurons. They have a large surface area and thus can make lots of connections and can make up a large network of neurons which constitute our brain. Extending from the cell body are axons which transmit the electrical signal. Key thing is that it is surrounded by myelin sheath made up of glial cells.
