-Folk devil isn’t parents but strangers
-Need to have an idea of whether it is exaggerated or not

Sociological Imagination: Translate personal troubles into
public issues. Understand how life chances affected
broader social forces
e.g.1 Cancer
Some cancer is sociologically producedCancer alley in
Louisiana: Poor and black people live in an area with a
heavy concentration of chemicals
Other e.g. Unemployment, Date rape, People losing their
houses in US
Sociological Imagination is an intersection of three variables:
-Ongoing process, when you are born.
e.g. People that went through the Great Depression must mentality have money in the
bank in case of rainy days
