Must ind ways to accommodate with students not interested in pursuing academics. Teachers that demand ime and efort from students in elecive courses risk trouble with consumers. Too many elecives in north american schools compared to europe. Mastery with core courses (math, science, english etc. ) are not expected. Consumers can seek demanding/challenging curriculum, but students are just as able to avoid the demanding workload. Too easy to advance in the next grade. Encourage self-streaming in hs: backlash against shopping mall hs. This may cause students to take courses that may afect their future goals unknowingly. Evaluate educaional standards by raising them: however, public school system (pss) is too slow, too bureaucraic and too large. Suggested that pss should not adopt the monopoly control. We need more school choice choices are determined by market reforms, resuling school compeiions. Schools will survive according to the ability to collect funds from fee paying clients (parents willingness to pay diferent kind of schooling)
