There is a deep link between personalities between catholicism and protestant. His father was important person in german liberal party, was shallow self-satisfied person. His mother was very firm protestant, duty, and disciplined person. Weber wasn"t the best student, but liked to read in early childhood. Went to university and became part of rituals, played fencing and grew status. Afterwards, joined the military but joined aunt/uncle who were very intellectual. Fell in love with their daughter/his cousin, after six years broke off marriage. After done military service, returned to berlin and lived with parents for 8 more years. Was a student and then a lawyer then a teacher, was authoritarian to mother. Weber was incredible workaholic, wrote ancient roman economy. Followed up with german studies, did this by being totally 100% disciplined.
