Inequality is not just about material things; it is also about how people are treated, and how they are viewed. How people are marginalized by their sexualities, idea of the ideal body will also be covered. Stratification theory: functionalist perspectives on society, focus on social cohesion, how society functions as an organism, social inequality and division of labour viewed as necessary, ex. Everyone has a role to play in society, people different skills, and those who have higher skills should be rewarded. Critique of stratification theory: perception of the skills, society is not what it seems, it is more complicated.
