The job of the boundary spanners is to influence surrogate consumers: cultural markets and the production of ideas: Specific industry conditions change what type of culture is produced. Secondly all hits are flukes: two parts one is due to the oversupply, and audience tastes change overtime. Nobody knows if something is going to make money are not because consumption processes are random.
