Document Summary
Stab22 - lecture 15 - sample surveys, census, populations, parameters, samples, A sample survey are the usual surveys that people ask you to do. These surveys require you to answer questions, and through the data obtained from a subset of a population, you can be able to make attributes regarding the population itself. The 3 keys for sampling are: examine a part of the whole (sample, randomize (to get the sample, sample size. Examining a part of the whole (the sample) The population is the group of people that we want information from for our survey. We would like to know information about the entire population, but that is nearly impossible (there are way too many people). So instead of getting information from an entire population, we just settle for a smaller group of individuals. One example of a sample survey are opinion polls.
