Disadvantage of having volunteers at the senior levels: lack of responsibility or time, judgement, balance of power is essentially screwed up: who is the boss (the manager or the volunteer?) There"s a push-pull relationship between the volunteer and the organization. Have access passes to conferences or exhibitions at no cost. Non-monetary payments that have value to them. Think about what they contributed to the organization and what would make them feel good and part of the organization. Information packages if there"s a language barrier between the organization and their volunteers. Offer them something they want to hear! (this isn"t only about the company)
