In her writing piece there is emphasis on sensations and the newness of being in a city (talks about getting off of a train and feeling rain down her back etc. ,) Chugtai (1915-1992), now regarded as one of south asia"s foremost feminist writers as well as being a pioneer in 20th c. urdu prose.
