Page 120- black and white thinking of the mother. Portrays mother as uncultured woman with only reading as the bible which they don"t share. For her mother is entirely god fearing and she is acting in rebellion against it- page 22. Page 22 weren"t u god for me- she always feared her and she was the voice of god for her. She feels that her mother is present even in her absence, death. Uses her writing to try to come closer to her mother even if she is moving away from her, rejecting her lifestyle and disproving. Writing gesture as moving towards and moving away by complaining. But this dialectical behavior is helping her be herself. Writing as a way to engage with the mother and also to keep her mother alive. Someone to be obeyed and feared as a child.
