In this period i am going to talk about the microscopic properties of epithelium and one of the subtypes of connective tissue (ct), the ordinary cts. In this drawing here you can see a representation of cells and ecm, the cells are shown here, and here, and here. The ecm or intercellular substance is the material that lies in-between the cells. Now, the tissue in the lower part of the diagram is actually ct. The tissue at the top of the diagram represents an epithelial tissue. And to demonstrate some of the characteristics of epithelium.
