Document Summary

Bilateral contraction nice posture unilateral contraction bend to one side or the other side. Quadratus lumborum quadratus from shape and lumborum since location, in lumbar region. Erector spinae and quadrates lumborum you can lump together both when contract unilaterally can cause lateral bending. Gluteus maximum and underneath is gluteus medius then underneath this is gluteus minimus. Have 3 glutii minimum and medius is pretty much the same just one on top of another so both involved in abduction since run across lateral aspect of hip so pull hip outward and also weak medial rotators. Anterior compartment of the thigh includes quadriceps femoris (the muscles we call quadriceps) this muscle has 4 separate points of origin and largely on anterior aspect of femur. Branches of the sacral plexus gluteus maximum ,gluteus medius , gluteus minimus make greater and lesser sciatic foramen so need sacrotuberus ligament and sacrospinous ligament.
