Making up things is an act of signifying- using signs. It is an adaptive advantage of homo sapiens. Studied by philosophers, psychologists, political scientists, sociologists and anthropologists . Anthropologists focus on small-group constructs and interactive practice. Yet we can distinguish reality form unreality (truth from lies) Reality: what verifiable, the world as it makes sense to us. Construct: formed by people in society, most of reality comes across to us through the filter of signs and language, its out there and we live in it but the way we understand from it becomes reality. It may not always be the sane as what really exists: the real. In ordinary language: reality is what us real. According to lacon/ social science jargon: how we understand the real.
