Julian steward: theory of culture change (1955: trained within boasian school; but rebellious against traditional boasian thought in that he believed evolutionary theories should be brought back to cultural anthropology (cultural evolutionism) People"s relationship to land; how it"s used; how it"s lived on: population. Density, dispersal, quantity: technology, social organization of production, territoriality/warfare, stratification, sanctity.
