2nd problem w/ western biomedicine -> don"t view humans as evolved. Evolution doesn"t produce health, instead lead to survival and reproduction. Inventions have immediate benefits, but unsure of health effects. In all societies, humans live longer than chimps: may have tradeoff. Bipedalism: babies have larger heads, not just humans, other analogues, bipedalism preceded having larger brains, knee problems, hip and pelvis positions. ~250, 000 yrs that humans have been around b/c clear evidence that humans around for ~150, 000. Men don"t live as long as females. Define language in human terms, more than just communication. Culture -> can affect rate of development to some degrees.
