Document Summary

Harvesting is often determined through size threshold: truncation. If the fish is larger than size x it gets stuck in the net. If the fish is smaller than size x it escapes the net. We expect that natural selection is going to at against the fish that are bigger than x. People who hunt, there is pride in shooting dee with bigger antlers, or bigger morphology which will also have evolutionary consequences. Many genes of small effect, there is environmental contribution to the phenotype. The mendelian traits discrete traits, one or two genes / loci with strong effects. Their benefit is that we can infer genotype from phenotype. Sexual dimorphism, men on average are taller than woman. Ability to do well on sat and swimming = quantitative traits we can"t look at individuals and deduce the phenotype. Genotype by environment interaction how your genotype and environment interact deduce the phenotype.
