cannot be defeated) is stolen by Odysseus
Trojan Horse scheme
- odysseus’ plan to trick the Trojans into believing that the greeks left and
went back home and leave a huge Trojan horse to serve as an “offering” to
the Trojans
- the Trojans takes the horse into the city and at night the greeks that were
hidden within the Trojan horse killed everyone in the city
Aeneas is seen as symbolic figure of Rome
Laokoon and his sons
he is a priest and believes that the Trojan horse is a greek trick
he took a spear and tried to put a hole on the horse BUT
since the gods are on the greek’s side, they sent two huge snakes that killed
laokoon and his sons.

Atreus wanted revenge so he lures Thyestes back, and kills Thyestes’
children and cooks them
- he serves Thyestes children to Thyestes to eat
Thyestes puts a curse on Atreus’ family
Agamemnon brings home Cassandra (his concubine) to his wife.
Cassandra has visions of the curse and what will happen in the future.
Aegisthus (lover of Agamemnon’s wife) is another son of Thyestes
- he is the one who kills Agamemnon
- he wants revenge for his family
